Participants in the Social Emotional Learning & Mindfulness workshop are invited to learn about how to support the development of these skills in youth to decrease stress and anxiety, improve behavior and attention, and support compassionate and respectful relationships with the goal of developing a calmer and more compassionate school, home, and community environment.
Social emotional skills focus on self-management, self awareness, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills.
Mindfulness activities induce the relaxation response allowing for the social emotional skills to be implemented successfully.
These skills can be learned by both youth and adults; daily practice can lead to compassionate self-care and healthy stress management. Information presented is appropriate for school personnel, parents/caregivers, and community members.
This workshop is flexible and can be tailored to meet the unique needs of the group. This can be for school professional development, parent/caregiver education, or a conference workshop. Workshop length can vary from 60-120 minutes.
