Rebecca Potter, MS, LMHC

Rebecca Potter, MS, LMHC, is a former classroom teacher and completed her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in education. While teaching, Rebecca saw a need for students to obtain psychological coping skills. She left the teaching profession after eight years and studied to become a licensed counselor. She obtained her master’s degree at Nova Southeastern University in counseling psychology. During this time, Rebecca began an internship in counseling psychology with disadvantaged and traumatized children in foster care. Inspired by that work, she pursued additional education in Applied Behavior Analysis protocols at Florida Institute of Technology and is able to provide training to educators on advanced classroom management, functional behavior assessments to decrease disruptive behavior, and employing engaging instructional methods to motivate learners.

Rebecca has worked 20 years as a counselor with a variety of experience: private practice, corporate critical incident responding, school consultation, corporate training, functional behavioral assessments, trauma counseling, childhood anxiety treatment and substance abuse treatment. She is committed to helping communities understand and normalize mental health and enjoys returning to school campuses to provide support to educational communities and families.

Rebecca is based in South Florida. In-person speaking engagements beyond 90 miles may require a fee for travel expenses.
