Ken Lambert, who, along with his wife Danielle, founded Keep Sound Minds in 2008 to honor their young children and sister-in-law who lost their lives in an unimaginable incident on a Massachusetts highway. Their mission is to increase awareness about the importance of mental health education. Lambert has been named to the Massachusetts Advisory Board for Minding Your Mind.

At a young age, Carl felt shame and pain as a result of his ongoing battle with anxiety and depression. He used alcohol as a negative coping skill, which eventually spun out of control into opioids, then heroin. In his recovery process, he has learned healthy, effective ways to handle his emotions. Carl believes that the feelings he struggles with are faced by young people everywhere and shares his story to help lessen the stigma surrounding mental health issues and substance abuse disorder. Drew’s early teenage years were filled with tremendous sadness resulting from a severe case of depression. Drew began to self-harm, eventually leading to two suicide attempts. At sixteen, Ali became a volunteer firefighter and experienced sexual harassment, sexual assault, and years of bullying at the hands of her fellow firefighters. Ali developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that kept her stuck in the past and kept her from engaging in life. Through working with a wonderful therapist and the love and support of family and friends, Ali learned how to take her life back and live it freely. Ali was able to re-identify herself as a victor instead of a victim and loves helping people do the same. Read more…
