Nora Barrows, MS

She/Her

Nora Barrows earned her M.S. in School Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2010, and she has been a certified Rhode Island school psychologist ever since. She has been privileged to serve children as young as three years old who are just beginning their school career, all the way up to 18-year-old young adults preparing to forge onward into independence. Nora sees childhood as a sacred and mysterious journey worthy of respect and intentionality.

In her years working as a school psychologist, Nora has provided counseling and social coaching targeting the five core social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. She has provided crisis response services, including response to suicide and homicide risk, and grief work following unexpected loss. She has conducted comprehensive psychological evaluations and functional behavioral assessments, always seeking meaningful information that can ultimately have a positive impact on a child’s life. She has worked alongside teachers, parents, students, and administrators with an approach that is patient, curious, and respectful – knowing that other people always have something to teach us.

When presenting to a group, Nora brings a warmth and energy that invites engagement from her audience. It is her honor and privilege to make authentic connections with others and to share times of learning together.

Nora Barrows is based in Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut. In-person speaking engagements outside that area may require a fee for travel expenses.
