Join us on October 4, 2021, at the virtual exhibitor forum of NAMI Delaware's annual Inspiring Hope Conference.
Please join Sheila Gillin, Minding Your Mind's Clinical Director, for a conversation about the challenges faced by students "re-entering" school in a time of ongoing uncertainty. We know the pandemic created a sense of loneliness and isolation for kids and now they are returning to school with both hope and fear. Sheila will provide parents and caregivers with strategies to promote resilience in their kids and help them develop the tools to manage disappointment and ongoing uncertainty.
Join Minding Your Mind clinician Linda Price, M.Ed., CAGS, LEP, E-RYT, YACEP, for an engaging workshop about supporting children grades K-5 in developing coping skills for the current times. It can be hard to tell what's typical for development and what is the result of anxiety, depression, loneliness, grief, and fear. When children are struggling they often turn inward or act out to manage their mental health. Linda will provide you with a framework to understand these responses, share the most common emotional needs and behaviors, and provide strategies for supporting a child’s mental health and wellness. Interactive Q&A to follow. Presentation followed by an interactive Q & A.
Minding Your Mind clinician Linda Price will present, "Coping Skills for Current Times: Supporting Mental Health of K-6 Youth" at 10am. Minding Your Mind young adult speaker Elizabeth will present, "From Perfect to Purpose: A Student’s Struggle with Anxiety, Perfectionism, and Substance Use" at 11:15am.
Be Healthy Beverly is virtually presenting "Angst," a 56-minute documentary on a mission to start a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. Angst will be directly followed by a discussion led by Jon Mattleman, Minding Your Mind's New England Clinical Director. If you or any of your friends/loved ones experience anxiety we highly encourage you to register for this virtual event!
