At Minding Your Mind, we create experiences that open minds and show people they are not alone when they are struggling. Our group of young adult speakers, who have successfully and productively coped with their mental health challenges, share their stories of hope, recovery, and resilience. We use the power of storytelling to provide evidence-based education about mental health challenges in schools, communities, and workplaces. We encourage youth to seek help, and we ensure that those around them are effectively prepared to provide that help. These are stories and experiences with the power to inspire others to take action to help themselves, their peers, and others.
Our approach is proven to change attitudes and increase help-seeking behavior. We use our programs to directly address a broad range of mental health issues and the signs, symptoms, and stigma associated with each. Our message is tailored to meet the needs of each specific audience. Through interactive and engaging presentations, we educate on topics like stress, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders, suicide ideation, disordered eating, addictive behavior, trauma, self-harm, and bullying. We make sure those listening learn what to look for in themselves or others, and how to address them. Proving the value of talking about mental health is a cornerstone to all our programs.
